Evan Read

03 — The pianist
Portrait of Evan Read in a white shirt, outdoors in front of tropical foliage.

Classically trained, never one to stay in one lane — traditional technique with warmth, space, and a quiet sense of storytelling.

Evan grew up in Augusta — birthplace of Jessye Norman and James Brown — and is back home after years performing across the country: theater pits in Atlanta, candlelight concerts in Los Angeles, weddings and productions in Chicago.

He plays regularly for The Augusta Players at the Imperial Theatre downtown, alongside weddings and private events across the CSRA. Whether supporting a vocalist or taking the lead himself, he brings the same intent to every performance: to create something meaningful, memorable, and moving.

Questions

06 — Before you book

How far in advance should I book?

Three to six months is ideal, especially for weddings in peak season. If your date is close, ask anyway — cancellations happen.

Do you provide your own piano?

Most venues have one. If yours doesn't, I can arrange a rental or bring a professional stage keyboard and sound.

Can you learn a specific song?

Yes. Custom arrangements are part of the job — send the song and it will be ready, including first dances and processionals.

What does live piano cost?

It depends on date, length, and location. Send your details and you'll have a quote within 24 hours.
